There
are four mountain passes that determine quality levels in Nuwara
Eliya. The air is cool and intoxicatingly fresh, blowing clean
and cold from the high cloud-crowned mountains. The air is always
scented with the fragrance of the cypress that grow in abundance,
and mentholated with wild mint and eucalyptus. It is the combination
of all these factors that has given Nuwara Eliya teas that unique
character, which is recognised by all the connoisseurs of tea
in the world.
